Another mistake is trying to be everywhere online too soon. A lot of people think it’s important to be on every single social media platform every single day, but that’s not the case. I have a presence on every platform, but only really use two, Twitter and Facebook, which work best for me.

And what we want is to build up a nest egg for when those lean months come. One of the most obvious ways to do that is take on as much work as you can when it’s there; and that’s when the “too much work” scenario comes up.
