WordPress is one of the dominant web formatting hubs on the internet. WordPress hosts about 40% of websites. Many individuals and businesses keep their pages running for years, but what happens when you want to delete something? Do you know how to delete WordPress blogs? Here we have a step-by-step breakdown.

Deleting the Blog on WordPress

Differentiate whether this is a WordPress.com site or a WordPress.org site. There is a difference in how to delete them. WordPress.org sites are hosted through an alternative hosting platform and must be deleted through their own personal control panel.

WordPress.com

  • Login to WordPress
  • Go to Your WordPress Home Screen
  • Look to the Tab List on the Left of the Screen and Find “Settings”

This will take you to the general “Settings.” It will be right of the left side tab bar. Scroll down until you see a box with “Site Tools.”

  • Click on the Site Tools Panel that Says “Delete Site Permanently”

THIS WILL NOT DELETE YOUR SITE. It will take you to another page where it offers you the options:

  • “Export Content First”
  • “Delete Site”

Exporting your content will compress your website into a zip file. This file can later be uploaded into a new site address and your site and its content should be perfectly preserved. This is highly recommended, to follow through on.

  • Click “Delete Site”
  • A “Confirm Delete Site” Window Will Pop Up

This window will be your last option to turn back and not delete your website.

  • Enter the URL Associated with the WordPress.com Site you Want to Delete

After you have entered the URL to the website you want to delete, press the red button that states “Delete this site.”

  • Delete Your Website

THIS CANNOT BE UNDONE.

Once you have deleted your WordPress.com site it is gone forever. If you exported your content into a “.zip” file, your site can be regenerated from that later under a new URL. However, keep in mind that once the site is gone it is truly gone.

For those looking to delete your WordPress account, that will delete all sites housed under that umbrella. That means every site associated with that account.

Closing (Deleting) a WordPress Account

Find your profile image. This should typically be located in the upper right corner of your WordPress page. By clicking on that you will then have your profile tabs bar appear on the left side of the screen.

  • Go to “Account Settings.”

Scroll to the bottom of the page (should appear right of the profile tabs). At the bottom, there is text (should be in red) that says, “Close Your Account Permanently.”

  • Click “Close Account.”

Read all the associated pieces that you will be deleting by closing your account. Alternatively, options exist like “Emptying” a Site of Its Content Completely. Or Deleting a Site as shown above.

Final Thoughts

It is important to understand there are alternatives besides permanently deleting your web content. Additionally, note that third-party services use bots to crawl the web and archive old sites.

Regardless, there are numerous ways to safely and easily remove web content from a WordPress site, take the time to find out which of them works best for you.

While it is statistically accurate that more “buddies” would have podcasts than given individuals that you are talking to, the oversaturation of the market leaves the average podcaster lost in a sea of mediocrity. What’s more, unlike other forms of social media, the typical podcast is not easily monetized. Leaving all the funding most typically to you guessed it sponsorships. So, how does one get sponsors for a podcast?

In this article, we will reveal some of the standard ways to grow in prominence and acquire funding for that totally different podcast. As well as how to get sponsors for podcasts.

YouTube

This is an easy way to leverage a regular platform to essentially “crowdsource” your sponsorships. While it may not break out the big ticket numbers, it can grow in prominence to provide a little funding for you to hold out a little longer for that coveted sponsorship.

Given the nature of the topic of your podcast, you may be able to score specific advertisers and get a higher CPM per video. This is even better for academic or financial podcasts. Technology podcasts also rate very well with YouTube’s advertisers.

Podcast Directory

Podcast directories offer great ways of both getting discovered and connecting with sponsors.

  • Apple Podcasts
  • Spotify
  • Google Podcasts
  • Samsung Podcasts
  • Stitcher
  • iHeartRadio
  • TuneIn

These all serve as solid directories, and sending your Podcast through a service like Buzzsprout or RSS can help push you to the top of these lists. By connecting through these services you will get pushed through multiple podcast platforms. As a now-retired podcast bro, I can tell you, the people will find you.

Grow Your Following

This is basically the easiest way to get sponsors. There is no shortcut. No secret sauce will help you surmount the 850,000 other podcasts that exist within this space. Be fresh, be inventive. Realize someone has probably done this before. Make it better.

Edison Research claims 70% of consumers are likely to consider a product after hearing its praise from a favored podcast. Sponsors want that to be 70% of 770,000 not 70% of 8. Get your podcast spread and proliferated and the sponsorships will come in time.

Here are some tips to help that become a reality:

  • Understand your Genre/Role
  • Upload Consistently
  • Promote through your Network
  • Create High-Quality Content
  • Get People Excited

The key fundamentals to this involve utilizing all open channels to make your podcast and brand as omnipresent as possible. Once you break obscurity, having a brand or message that resonates with people in that space will be critical. Ultimately you get sponsors for a podcast, by making your podcast something people want to be a part of. This way, you can guarantee that they will gladly take time from their day and listen. And where the buyers go, the sellers (your sponsors) are truly sure to follow.

The biggest marketing turn of the century came in May of 2012 when Facebook went public. Since that day and beyond social media as a capital juggernaut has redefined the idea of social media as an advertising space and marketing platform in its entirety. Ironically the platforms used by hundreds of millions to define and sell themselves are now one of the biggest proprietors of business-to-consumer content in existence.

Now, you’ve elected to ride that wave and take social media as a legitimate career. What does it take to cover your bases as a social media entrepreneur? Here are 5 easy steps that will take you to become a social media freelancer.

1. Know Your Structure

Depending on how you plan to execute your business and the scale you are trying to reach, there are several keys and slightly different ways to best go about setting up your business.

  • Establish your Sole Tradership/Sole Proprietorship
  • Set up an LLC

Sole Proprietorship’s are intended for one person that is running the company, as the company. It offers essentially no legal distinction. You can employ others, and it offers the ability to get you up and running quickly.

LLCs (Limited Liability Corporation) conversely take more time and money to establish but offer a legal distinction between the business and the individual. Consider if you had a campaign that went incredibly far south and wanted legal coverage. They do need to be registered with the State.

  • Look to Register Trademarks
  • Register for a Tax Number

This will set you up to avoid any major headaches come tax time. For many of those just starting a business this number if not managed properly can take an amazingly large cut of any would-be profit, you are assuming.

  • Create a Separate Business Bank Account

Build an account distinction between yourself and your company. This will additionally help in the early days as you are pioneering out into the world of business ventures. The software can help in this regard to streamlining your payment and billing pipelines. Stripe is a very common form of such software.

2. Portfolio

As you begin to do work you will generate pieces that receive either enough accolades – views, likes, shares, etc. or enough creative merit to add to a special area of regarded work. This area will become your portfolio. This is what you can demonstrate to potential clients to help them buy into your vision.

A strong social media portfolio typically involves, an indication of the KPI – Key Performance Indicators and metrics, the actual visual piece, an explanation of the creative process, and the ultimate results of the piece. This is a huge indicator of analytic and creative proficiency as well as a major bartering chip in the client acquisition process.

3. Proper Pricing

As you begin to create as a social media freelancer, you will be able to measure and allot out your creative process. Knowing your timetables, skillset, and affinities will let your best price and understand your deliverables. Knowing how long it will take you will help you lay out your timeline. Your skills will help reveal areas to focus on and develop as well as your own personal best marketables via your growing portfolio. All of this will come to comprise the packages you offer and the scale at which you price them.

Here are several pricing models:

  • Hourly Rate
  • Monthly Retainer
  • Set Campaign

Additionally, there are experience levels that can help you differentiate yourself and understand your relative place in the market:

  • Junior – 2 Years: 20-30 per hour
  • Mid – 3-5 Years: 40-75 per hour
  • Senior – 5-8 Years: 80-100 per hour
  • Expert – 10+ Years: 100-250 per hour

4. Build Your Network and Market Yourself

This comes after you’ve made headway into the market. You know your aptitudes worked out your vanguard pricing plan and begun situating yourself in the space. That portfolio is getting fat and you begin to garner a bit of a reputation. Now you need to begin networking.

This brings in new business and allows you to connect to other social media entrepreneurs that are, like you, trying to dominate the space. Your peers can offer tips and insights and also help volley jobs and projects off you. By being in the space you can begin to saturate the market with yourself and start to grow in even greater prominence.

This can even go further with employing the tactics you’ve learned to serve others to begin to work for you. Additionally, even taking the time to market through your own identity and name both directly and indirectly can put you in public consciousness outside of your space.

5. Scale Your Enterprise

This is the final step to reaching the pinnacle of the industry. While this is largely a business step, at this point you are deep in the social media marketing business. This means that you look to take on salaried employees, gain new clients and outsource work accordingly as you scale your business and its identity up the ladder.

At this point in the business, it is important to:

  • Gather Testimonials
  • Perform Case Studies

It was the review feature that was allotted to much of Amazon’s early success. Testimonials and referrals are some of the easiest ways to score high-quality, like-minded clientele in the future. The higher the quality of the testimonial or the referee, the more likely it is that the inbound client will be of a similar nature and quality.

As your work and work management grow, so shall your reputation, size, scale, hopefully, quality, and most of all ability to take more work as a social media freelancer. At this point, your fledgling social media upstart has become a dominating force within the space simply by doing the easy, difficult thing, consistently over time.

When starting a podcast, it can be extremely helpful to have a roadmap of where you want to go and more importantly what you need to do. What kind of microphone do I purchase? What platforms do I want to get on? Here are ten key tips to help anyone start a podcast.

1. Know What You Want to Do

Flesh out the nature of your podcast. These are the simple questions you probably already showed up to the prompt with.

  • What am I going to talk about?
  • Do I want or have a partner
  • What is the group I’m going to try for?
  • How do I want to conduct guests and interviews?
  • Is this scripted?

After a while, things begin getting down to the nitty-gritty and the questions become more intricate through trial and error. However, knowing what general angle you are taking will be the basis that forms the show.

Importantly Tip 1.5 – Start

An extra podcast tip? Do not spend too much time planning. This is going to be built through action. So action is the state in which you need to be. Make sure you have the plan to carry out the research and necessary acquisitions, but ultimately remember this is to service the action of production, dissemination, and the ultimate selling of the podcast.

2. Have a General Idea of Your Topic

Keep in mind that you are going to need to talk about this, either with another person in a discussion, or by yourself over narrative, story, or points. Regardless you will need to have varying levels of information on your topic. – at least enough to approach it.

While it can be comical to have very passionate individuals argue over a topic of which they know very little, that is not likely going to be the crux of your podcast. Regardless you are going to have to entertain, inform or discuss something. And the level of knowledge on that topic is a metric with which you will have to address and understand to some varying degree.

3. Research Distributing Platforms

This is an actionable podcast tip that is very necessary. ThinkBuzzsprout, RSS, Apple, and so on. These are the distribution organizations that will push your podcast onto platforms like Spotify. Nearly all of them require some form of monthly cost so it is imperative to research them to an extent that you are comfortable choosing the option that agrees most with your intent and pocket.

4. Software, Format, Software

Find your software. Most people think that having a microphone is the most integral part of a podcast. It is not. Having solid mixing software is key. Adobe Audition is an extremely approachable choice for beginners and keeping it within the suite lends itself well to Premiere Pro, should the podcast ever go visual.

Having a mixing software can allow editing and freedom of format that would otherwise be a moment either serendipitous or rare in a LIVE moment, or even more likely hidden amongst hours of content that may lose your audience.

5. Research and Acquire Necessary Equipment

A huge podcast tip? Mics. Mainly mics. Also software. It does not require much to start a podcast. In theory, you can record in a room on a phone and push it out to the internet. Entertaining is entertaining regardless of production quality. However, as you continue to grow you will want to invest in better equipment to best scale your company.

A podcast is an audio-based format, so microphones are a good place to start. Think along the lines of Blue Yeti or HyperX QuadCast. But beyond this capturing audio will be one of the first huge game changers. Combining this with the software will get you nearly to the ceiling of podcast technical potential.

Also, many podcasts gain traction and potentially more importantly monetization on youtube. Reaching the optimum on this will likely require a camera deciding whether your podcast will be stationary or evolve into a mobile “vlog” will differentiate your choices. The EMEET C960 Web Cam is a solid place to start in terms of potential and price output.

6. Build Your Style

As you are prone to eventually nail down technical aspects and understandings, build your style. Have that distinct retention or value proposition that takes what you do to the next level. Why should people come to your particular murder mystery podcast? Why should they laugh with you instead of friends of their own?

Use your compounding experience to build a level of legitimacy around yourself and your mission. Set to establish that differentiation and you will find the value proposition to become ingrained with your own personal branding and the style of which you begin to format and orate your podcast.

7. Network – via People, Platforms, and Algorithms

As you gain comfort, begin taking things to the next level with marketing. Play the algorithm this means touching on topics that are in vogue and having every person willing to push our product pushing your product. Be iconic and entertaining with that value proposition and ride the algorithm. There are several ways to try to cantilever over the grind time that will still ultimately be necessary to grow your following but here are several.

  • Use Platforms that Allow for Rapid Dissemination and Growth; Youtube, Tik Tok
  • Use Specific Guests to Attract Their Following
  • Utilize Unique Takes on Trending Topics to Garner Eyes
  • Controversy – but the right kind of controversy

8. Grind

Consistency is key. Regardless of what you are doing. What field you are in. Even with whatever approach you take you must do it, to prove it. Time will allow you to build up many things. Including your experience, eye for good content and pieces, your acumen for finding networking capabilities, and most of all your discography.

By putting in the time, you will build the connections and even go as far as to potentially help others grow in tandem. Ultimately this is the unavoidable work that goes into generating content.

9. Integrate All Aspects into Your Brand

Once you have the experience to put together a good show; the networking strategies to find the right people; the connections to the right people to employ those strategies, and the discography to appear legitimate and have somewhat of a following for your take on the podcast you can begin to integrate your style.

This can be done over time naturally, but it is the ultimate culmination of doing your topic, your way, with your type of people. As things go further down this road of polarization you can find the ads that work best for you, the bits that play best on youtube. And on it goes. This could be called finding your niche. However, I think people try to do this before they understand what they are doing. I prefer to focus on an area and let it build its own take. Over time.

10. Improve the Podcast

Once you have a product that’s existing you can begin to pull it apart and see what it lacks. The main reason this is so far back is that this requires discography. For something to “get old,” it has to be allowed to get old. That means do it. In time your own brand will pull you to the points you should be arguing, the song you should be playing, and the gags you have to be running.

This in turn will let you know what parts are succeeding,  and what the audience wants. Maybe it’s the same format only changing the guest. Maybe it’s the tonality of the story that needs to switch or either be escalated further into. Build your podcast and begin changing it once you have something.

Importantly Tip 10.5 – Do It.

Another podcast tip and it sounds cheesy, but the best point of all is just to start. When you start the problems will present themselves in time. Just take action. If you are taking action the right problems will appear which is an indicator that you are doing something. So have a vision and follow the problems. They’ll get you there.

Having a job means that likewise at some point you will likely leave that job. In some cases that may be out of your control. However, for cases that are under your command, there will likely be a bit of space and maneuverability. In a typical job, this takes the form of giving two weeks notice. But how do you write a two weeks notice?

The two weeks notice is a hallmark of emotions. In many cases putting in this notice is the formal way of saying that you are leaving and is that initial icebreaker into such territory. In many cases, this can be broken in person when the two weeks is being personally delivered. But in other cases, it can come over email, or simply be left in your supervising boss’s mailbox or desk if meeting in person is not an option.

For sake of simplicity, we will break it down into three parts: introduction, body, and conclusion. For each part, we will cover the basic aspects of a thorough two weeks notice. Here are some easy thumb rules to keep in mind when asking yourself how to write a two weeks notice.

Keep It Short

Do not add excessive amounts of verbiage to your documentation. Keep it respectable and concise. After making the decision to leave, very little beyond the base reason and matter at hand will alter your employer’s feelings on the matter.

Do Not Avoid the Point

This needs to be to the point. You need to be clear and concise but do not waste sentences being “flowery”. Choose sharp, poignant words and allow them to take the brunt of the work for taking the edge off. Language is key, do not waste sentences muddling your point.

Be Professional

Another major part of how to write a two weeks notice is being respectful, respectable, and sophisticated. They are all key to getting your point across in the proper manner. With an act like a resignation, grace is a key component. This extends beyond words and points to the manner and nature in which you conduct the narrative and conversation. Do not try to be overly emotional, understand the point at hand, and be tactful and respectful but not emotional to any point beyond the appropriate investment.

Introduction:

Date

Company Name

Name of Person You Are Writing the Letter For

Make it clear that you are resigning. Write that you are planning to resign from your post in two weeks’ time. You should give the date of your final day with the company.

Body:

This is where you can get the most personable. It is common to thank your supervisor for the experiences gained and memories made. Additionally, this is where it would be appropriate to ask how you can make the transition easier for them and the team.

This is the heavy part of the letter. You should be kind and express any gratitude, but try not to hang around longer than you should.

Remind your boss that you intend to continue performing at your best, up until your last day. Again, try to keep the conversation proactive.

Conclusion:

Keep it short. Not sweet. Respectfully. One line. Punchy. Classy. Sincerely…

As technology makes more careers accessible, it allows the public a slew of rare and new opportunities. Among these is the frontier of freelancing. While this has nearly always existed – it’s how most companies started out, freelancing exists as a work for what you want to own enterprise. While many think of writing or editing, many individuals are also breaking into and becoming interior design freelancers. So, here are 6 tips to become an interior design freelancer

Do you Have Either the Skills or Passion?

Hint it’s mostly passion. As an enterprise don you have the gumption or ambition to fight through whatever problems face you. While skill and aptitude are sure to help, problems will appear and much as hunger is the best spice, necessity is the greatest motivator.

However, beyond the circumstantial, it will be the passion for the work that keeps the fight burning as other opportunities – likely easier opportunities come your way. However, it should be understood passion needs to extend beyond just the design.

  • Are you passionate about the business aspect
  • Can you manage the administrative tasks?
  • Are you a self-starter?

As a freelancer, you are a businessperson. Your goal, job, and lifestyle need to reflect the understanding that there is more to you than merely the design. Additionally, you are both willing and capable to handle the non-design aspects of this job.

Know the Role You are Filling

Any freelancer often comes in to do the work that a company has neither the time, resources, or necessity to scope a project out as a W-2 employee. A freelancer comes in specifically for this scope and often outcompetes other freelancers based on their rate, availability relative to the time frame, and clearcut skills.

Understanding this as well as the frame and rates that you will be filling often serve where the rubber meets the road, you will serve as the general contractor for hiring out bids and projects. You have to contact the individual for the windows, and cabinetry, find the fabric, and so on.

In many ways, given your funding and the scope of the job, this may serve as your chance to start scaling your business. Given the fact that your expertise in design will win over the account.

Secure the Account

Yet another business aspect of an interior design freelancer. Securing the account will rely heavily on your ability to sell yourself as a capable designer and administrator. You need to start by getting whatever work is gladly handed over to you. Use these successes to build up your portfolio and gain positive reviews and potential referrals. From here begin to work on networking and using the successes you’ve had to put yourself in a better place.

  • Marketing Skills
  • Networking
  • Referrals and Portfolio

Begin Drawing Up Designs and Subcontracting

This is the fun part where you actually get to do the interior decorating. Draw out the plans and know where you can go to get the aspects of these drawings fulfilled and delivered for the client. As a freelancer, you are largely on your own for how you fulfill the order. However, attaining quick drawing skills and several contacts on hand can create the turnaround necessary to lockdown temperamental accounts.

Build a Solid Pipeline

This is essentially the ease and reliability of your subcontracting. You will need to have a good association with a contractor and likely a small crew with numerous connections across the different pertinent components. Think about whether you design kitchens, it will hold different supply needs than that of a living room or bedroom. This will also impact the backend relationships you have with your suppliers, specifically who they are and what service they are providing.

The better the relationship and greater the loyalty the more likely you will be to swing deals for repeat business. Additionally, any deliverable that you can have a smoother turnaround time with will deliver the best overall experience given that often one piece can hold up the entire process.

Finish

This is where your ability as a manager comes in as an interior design freelancer. Can you provide a design and see through all the moving pieces to finish and deliver the piece that was promised. Often when people get into interior design they think only of the front end. The meeting, the idea, the drawing, the pitch, and the reveal. The work will need to be done. Including the demolition.

Having solid relationships helps immensely. It provides trust that the needed supply will come when necessary? Additionally, a group of hardworking crewmen and women will be there to provide the trade skills necessary for the project. As this is your vision you will need to be the one running point, making the calls and overseeing the project as necessary to ensure the promised turnaround.

Financial or lifestyle, accommodating to abrasive. These are some of the blogs to read before 2022 gets away. No need to squander time, you’ve read the title. Here are some of the best blogs to read in 2022. (They’re strong contenders for going into 2023 as well).

Copyblogger

For anyone looking into the world of content marketing look no further than one of the oldest greats on the net. The 2006 blog was introduced via one man’s great passion for content marketing. This passion shining through in the expressed form of teaching rapidly turned into one of the internet’s greatest gems. Now 16 years later, Copyblogger hosts over 500,000 visitors a month and a whopping 8-figure revenue stream.

Copyblogger deals with content marketing. It focuses on crafting impactful copy and serves as a great networking platform. In addition, Copyblogger does work in SEO and provides extensive articles and content that offer insights that take their readers’ work to the next level.

Mashable

Tech News – essentially. Mashable was created in 2005. Based out of Scotland the company covered digital culture, cutting-edge tech news, and content. It has stayed fairly close to its roots, with 45 million monthly views not pulling it away from its core digital premise.

While it can still be summed up as something akin to technology news meets internet culture, meets lucid entertainment with a writ of acerbic underpinnings, it is a key follow for anyone inclined toward any of these spaces. Additionally, Mashable is keen to show a way to build a presence based on a through-line and hybrid intersectionalities of adjacent albeit loosely tithed social circumstances.

Cup of Jo

This is like Mashable if Mashable had a solo, grassroots feel with the feeling it was a labor of love from one lifestyle-focused individual. Basically, a more niche, highly-focused model on how to form a brand around loosely based intersectionalities. Fashion, design, gift advice for loosely based semi-real world archetypes. Heck, I found a delicious-looking recipe for cheesy, cauliflower potatoes – which is a sentence someone only gets the ability to shamelessly say once.

Cup of Jo is a delightful and professional blog, adorned with huge pictures, light aerie palettes, and deep culture-rooted article’s welled with insight and respectfully tasteful isms. This is all done with a split of chic and candor that would make Martha Stewart inclined to share her prison skills.

Tiny Buddha

Tiny Buddha is a wisdom-based wellness and lifestyle blog. It looks to bring you a little peace of mind that can carry you into the next day and beyond. This is a joyous website with enjoyable approaches to letting go, relaxing, healing, and reframing past traumas. It hosts over 7 million followers across platforms and features a membership feature as well.

Little Buddha also has taken to the paper page and bindings of thread and hardback cover. We must remember the Buddha in his true incarnation as a highly influential internet site with photos and mandalas.

Impact Theory

Another blog to read, Impact Theory, is somewhat unique in that it features an equally alive YouTube presence. It hosts many acclaimed and famous figures. They all share their takes on purpose, wealth, and imperative compositions of success. Also, Alex Hormozi, Rob Dyrdeck, and Mark Zuckerburg all appear to do what has essentially become the Joe Rogan Experience for oddly dressed billionaires in their mid-to-late thirties.

Hosted by a similarly prominent figure Tom Bilyeu, Impact Theory serves to provide value via insights from some of the top minds in the business and entrepreneurial field. There are other aspects like online courses, aptly titled a “University.” Regardless, the YouTube content is free and allows us into the minds of those who have all worked for their money and made copious amounts of it.

A WordPress Developer is a website developer that works in WordPress. Roughly, a staggering 40% of the world’s websites are run on a WordPress site. That makes it a fairly safe business choice to focus on development within that system. Ultimately, a WordPress developer’s salary will only continue to increase.

WordPress is quoted as a “free and open-source content management system.” Which focuses on taking care of the coding so the site designer can be just that – a designer. This leaves the WordPress developer’s role toward being that of one of UX and UI – “User Experience” and “User Interface” respectively.

UX Designer

A UX Designer focuses on the natural feeling and flow of a website. The job is to think of how people will use the website and lay it out accordingly. Think “experience.” They look at statistics and try to both empathize and fetter out the best analytical response to a user’s time on the site. This deals with branding, images, video, so on.

UI Designer

A UI Designer focuses on the page layout and how the individual works with the site. The effect that may occur after pressing a button, the way you swipe on an application. This is a smaller niched-down version of site interaction. How someone interfaces with the app. Think “touch.”

While technically UI is a subset of UX the key difference is that UI focuses on the actual interaction. Think of their buzzwords, ‘interface’ and ‘experience.’ Or in another manner, a square is a rectangle but a rectangle is not a square. A “UX designer chooses how the UI functions while the UI designer chooses how the UI looks.”

Job Description

A WordPress developer builds and creates sites on WordPress. Helps develop the software. This is typically through enhancing it. Additionally, a WordPress developer should be a full stack developer capable of fleshing out the front-end and back-end of a website, when designing or building a WordPress site for a client.

Job Pay and Security

WordPress has been the fastest-growing CMS for the past 12 years. A CMS meaning, an open-source content management system. With this, WordPress’s status in the market is secure. The United States Bureau of Labor Statistics projects the employment of web developers and digital designers to grow by 13% between 2020 and 2030. This makes employment in this field very secure.

The average take-home salary for a WordPress developer is $64,245 a year. However, given commission jobs recorded in addition to a recorded or salaried position, this figure jumps ~ 30% to $87,749 yearly.

Additionally, there are approximately 17,900 job openings for this position yearly. That means that there is ample opportunity and access to this position with freelance work and consistently new output into the space and job turnaround. Hours depend on the nature of the employee. A WordPress developer could find a position working with an agency or by themselves. As this position can be easily freelanced, hours are flexible. This is often the case even in an agency setting.

TL;DR

Overall the position itself is one that requires a solid understanding of WordPress. Specifically its features and the ins and outs of the software as it gets developed, ebbs and flows. A solid grasp of UX and UI elements will help the novice developer as those are elements inherent to the build of any site, and good design can function as an ace while learning the process.

Breaking into the space largely consists of gaining an understanding of the medium. Producing and practicing. Then go develop sites and continue to grow in skill. A WordPress developer’s salary is roughly $90,000 yearly, which can sustain developers as a freelancer or in positions within an agency.

In today’s world work is further fragmenting off the typical 9-5 basic forty-hour work week. Specifically, with the technology present, the work available can be remote at hours present being those discretionary to the individual him or herself. There are many of these, online stores, YouTube channels, and blogs – especially for individuals starting lifestyle blogs.

The world is ready to reward content creators. Specifically, those with the skill and consistency to become a welcome staple in someone’s life. But how do you get started? Often the hardest part we will cover in this article is the general timeline of how to start a lifestyle blog.

Topic

Starting a lifestyle blog requires one thing first, having a topic. You need to have a draw that pulls people to your site. While this could be about anything, you have to think about sponsorships and AdSense monetization if you are aiming to build a career out of this. Regardless, however, it’s important that you write about something you are passionate about.

You are going to be the one that has to sit down to research, write and develop consistently high-quality articles about a given subject. Make sure it is something you enjoy, preferably with an existent background or an immense hunger or keen interest.

Even in the lifestyle space, there are things like home, finance, motivation and productivity, children, gyms and dieting, wellness, etc. Along with any and every combination of these topics, most people recommend niche, while others recommend going broad. The best underlying choice is to go with what you can write about consistently.

Name & Brand

A small aside – once you have an idea about what you will be writing, getting an idea of a name and some branding differentiators is a good “Step 2.” You don’t need to have everything figured out, especially if this is slowing you down. However, having a few key indicators about the tone and stylistic leanings of your website will pay off when you actually sit down to write.

Purchase a Domain

You need to have a place to host your blog. This is a fairly simple step, that is much more straightforward than you would think. Once you have a topic and a name you can go to Google Domains and purchase your domain name. This is your web address featured in the top bar. It’s your internet real estate. Here you can purchase your domain at a price of around ~ $1 a month which typically comes out at about 12 – 16 dollars yearly.

Google will then give you the opportunity to attach that to any particular building site – WordPress, Squarespace, Shopify, Google Sites, Ghost,  etc. Most of these will come on paid plans, but they are also typically fairly priced.

You can often buy domains directly through one of these host sites yourself. This can save linking time and the mental headache that comes from choosing the wrong one and having to switch your domain to a new host. Avoid this – trust me.

Choose Your Website Creator

This is where you get into the laundry list of names I touched on in “Point 3.”

  • WordPress
  • Squarespace
  • Wix
  • Weebly
  • GoDaddy
  • HostGator
  • Shopify
  • Zyro
  • Google Sites
  • Ghost
  • Jimdo Creator
  • Duda
  • Strikingly
  • 1&1 IONOS

There’s a respectable breakdown here. It covers their pricing and general usability. These are subscription base platforms, so going in with the intent of knowing what your blog is set to be, and how it’s going to make money are pivotal plans to be having in place in your blog’s early development.

Have a Plan for How Frequently You Are Going to Post

This is important. In this medium, consistency is key. Search engine optimization is a largely organic method of measuring and growing your site and network and that comes from having a legitimate network of backlinks and traffic sources to and from the web. It is a web of sites. That is why it is called “the web.”

It should be a good metric to have 20 posts stored up in your reservoir before you start blogging. From there it is considered ideal to post 2-4 times per week. Do not worry, these articles will continue to work for you. 70% of traffic on blog posts comes from material that was not posted that month.

Make that Money

Blogging is fun. Blogging is about passion. You need correct pay for your value. You deserve payment. Gearing your website for that saves you a lot of headaches. This is especially true as the blogging process gets dragged out and you start to question what it is you are doing dragging this process along.

Get an overview of how you want your payment. This blog will cost you a monthly fee, so make sure you are netting at the minimum. You don’t need to set the world on fire with this process, however, you should take the time to be rewarded for your steadfast drive and targeted focus.
